๐ฎ Xbox Users Are Asking for 1440p Remote Play, a Clubs Replacement & Project Helix Answers
March 2026 has been busy. Between the Xbox Partner Preview, GDC announcements, and a few frustrating service hiccups, the Xbox community has been loud on Reddit, Twitter, and the Feedback site.
I’ve rounded up the most common questions from the last 30 days โ and answered every single one in plain English. No PR speak. Just what you actually want to know.
Xbox Hardware & Performance: What You’re Asking For
โ “Can we get 1440p Remote Play?”
Short answer: Not yet, and people are frustrated.
Right now, Remote Play (streaming from your own Xbox to a phone, tablet, or PC) is capped at 1080p at 60fps. Even if you have a Series X and a gigabit local network, you can’t get 1440p or 4K.
The irony? Cloud Gaming (xCloud) recently got 1440p support. So you can stream Microsoft’s servers at higher resolution than your own console.
Microsoft has acknowledged the feedback on Xbox Insider forums, but there’s no timeline for a fix. The community is pushing hard on this one. If you want it, vote on the Feedback site.

โ “Will there be more RAM for emulators?”
Short answer: Developers are asking Microsoft to increase RAM allocation for Dev Store apps.
Currently, apps running in Developer Mode or the Retail Dev Store are RAM-limited. Emulator developers want 12GB available for Series X (instead of the current lower cap) to run PS2, GameCube, and even some PS3 games smoothly.
No official response yet. But this is a niche power-user request. If you’re into emulation on Xbox, keep an eye on the Dev Mode updates.

โ “Can I disable Quick Resume for specific games?”
Short answer: No, but you’re not alone in wanting this.
Quick Resume is great โ except when it’s not. Some online games (like Halo Infinite or Call of Duty) get confused when you quick-resume, forcing you to restart anyway. Other games just get buggy.
The request: a per-game toggle in the settings. “Disable Quick Resume for this title.”
Microsoft hasn’t commented, but this is a top-voted request on Xbox Feedback. Go vote if you want it.

๐ฅ Social & Account Features: What Happened to Clubs?
โ “What happened to Clubs? And when do we get a replacement?”
Short answer: Microsoft quietly sunsetted the old Clubs system in late 2025. They’ve promised a “Modern Xbox Community” replacement, but it’s not here yet.
What people want:
โข Better group organization (like Discord servers but native)
โข Media embedding (screenshots, clips)
โข Discoverability (find communities for specific games)
โข Shared game nights with calendar invites
Rumor has it that Microsoft is working on deeper Discord integration instead of rebuilding Clubs from scratch. No official announcement yet. Expected late 2026 if it happens.

โ “Can I transfer games between accounts?”
Short answer: No. And it’s a major pain point.
Lots of people made their Xbox account when they were teenagers โ now they’re adults with professional email addresses and want to move their digital library to a new account. Microsoft does not allow license transfers.
Your only options:
โข Keep using the old account (set it as “Home Xbox” on your console so other accounts can play the games)
โข Start fresh and lose your library (painful, I know)
This is a highly requested feature that Microsoft has never budged on. Don’t hold your breath.

โ “How do I hide my online status from everyone except ‘Favorites’?”
Short answer: You can’t โ yet.
Current privacy options are:
โข “Everyone” (anyone can see you)
โข “Friends” (only friends can see you)
โข “Only Me” (nobody can see you)
People want a fourth option: “Favorites only.” A tier between “Friends” (which includes that one guy from 2014 you never talk to) and “Only Me.”
Microsoft has acknowledged this request. No ETA.

โ ๏ธ Support & Service Issues: What’s Broken Right Now
๐ก Recent outages: In late March 2026, Xbox Live had significant service issues. If you experienced problems, you weren’t alone.
โ “Why is Xbox Party Chat not working?”
Short answer: There were server-side issues in late March 2026 that kicked people from parties, caused NAT errors, and made voice chat drop randomly.
Microsoft posted a status update on the Xbox Support page โ the issue was resolved within 48 hours. If you’re still having problems:
โข Hard restart your console (hold power button for 10 seconds)
โข Check your NAT type (should be Open or Moderate)
โข Test multiplayer connection in Settings โ Network
Most users reported the issue fixed as of March 28.

โ “Is the $1 Game Pass deal a scam?”
Short answer: No, but the marketing is misleading.
The “$1 for 1 Month” promotion is real โ but it’s new subscribers only. If you’ve ever had Game Pass before (even years ago), you don’t qualify.
The problem? The Xbox home screen dashboard doesn’t clearly label it as “New Subscribers Only.” So people click, sign up, get charged $15-30, and feel scammed.
How to check: If the offer doesn’t work for you, sign out and view the page in incognito mode โ you’ll see the fine print. Microsoft should make this clearer. But legally? Not a scam. Just annoying.

๐ฎ Next-Gen & Game Pass: What’s Real and What’s Hype
โ “What is Project Helix?”
Short answer: Microsoft’s next-gen hybrid console, confirmed at GDC 2026.
Project Helix is designed to play both Xbox and PC games natively โ meaning Steam, Epic, and other PC storefronts could run directly on the console. It’s a massive shift from traditional Xbox hardware.
What we know:
โข Expected release: late 2027 (rumored)
โข Hybrid architecture (Xbox OS + Windows layer)
โข Likely two SKUs: disc drive vs. digital
โข Backward compatible with all Xbox generations
What we don’t know: Price, exact specs, or whether it’ll actually run Steam games without restrictions. More news expected at Xbox Summer Showcase (June 2026).

โ “Is Cyberpunk 2077 finally on Game Pass?”
Short answer: Yes, as of March 10, 2026.
Cyberpunk 2077 is available on Game Pass Ultimate and Premium. The Phantom Liberty DLC is not included โ you still need to buy that separately ($29.99).
The base game includes the 2.0 update with all the reworked systems. If you haven’t played since the disastrous 2020 launch, it’s actually good now. Worth the download.

โ “When is Hades II coming to Xbox?”
Short answer: April 14, 2026.
Hades II was announced at the March Partner Preview. It’s launching on Xbox Series X|S, Game Pass Ultimate, and Premium on day one.
The original Hades is still on Game Pass if you want to replay it before the sequel drops. Mark your calendars โ this is going to be huge.

๐ Quick note on other March 2026 Game Pass additions:
โข Hollow Knight: Silksong โ March 12 (Premium only)
โข Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth โ March 24 (Ultimate, PC, Premium)
โข Planet of Lana II โ March 5 (Ultimate, PC)
โข Resident Evil 7 โ March 31 (Ultimate, PC, Premium)
If you’re on Essential or Core, you don’t get these. Check your tier before getting excited.
